Capricorn

Earth and cardinal

Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign ruled by Saturn. Earth signs build, keep, and trust what they can touch and measure. Cardinal signs start things. They open each season and like to lead.

Its opposite sign is Cancer. Opposite signs share a modality and sit on one axis, so Capricorn and Cancer tend to be each other's missing half.

The Sun in Capricorn

Your Sun in Capricorn gives you a determined, responsible, patient nature. You think long term, you climb steadily, and you take your duties seriously. Under the reserve there is a dry wit and a loyal heart.

In work you are built for mastery and for earning real standing over time. In love you are steady and serious, and you show it by showing up. Your challenge is letting yourself rest and play before the work is done, because it is never all done.

Three things that help

Schedule rest with the same respect as work.

Let people see the softer side. It does not weaken you.

Celebrate each step. The summit is a long way off.

Planets at home and away in Capricorn

Saturn is at home in Capricorn. This is the sign Saturn rules, where it works most like itself.

Mars is exalted in Capricorn, an honoured guest. The sign brings out Mars's best side.

Moon is in detriment in Capricorn, opposite its home. It works here, but against the grain of the sign.

Jupiter is in fall in Capricorn, opposite its exaltation. The sign asks Jupiter to work in an unfamiliar way.
