Aries

Fire and cardinal

Aries is a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars. Fire signs act first, warm the room, and need somewhere to put their energy. Cardinal signs start things. They open each season and like to lead.

Its opposite sign is Libra. Opposite signs share a modality and sit on one axis, so Aries and Libra tend to be each other's missing half.

The Sun in Aries

Your Sun in Aries gives you a direct, fast-moving nature. You act first, learn by doing, and are at your best when you have something to start or someone to champion. You are honest to a fault, and people always know where they stand with you.

In work you want to lead, or to be left alone to move at your own speed. In love you are open and warm, and you need a partner who can keep up and does not mistake bluntness for coldness. Boredom is your real enemy, so you go looking for the next challenge.

Three things that help

Start things, then hand off what needs patience.

Count to ten before answering when you feel provoked.

Keep a physical outlet. Your energy needs somewhere to go.

Planets at home and away in Aries

Mars is at home in Aries. This is the sign Mars rules, where it works most like itself.

Sun is exalted in Aries, an honoured guest. The sign brings out Sun's best side.

Venus is in detriment in Aries, opposite its home. It works here, but against the grain of the sign.

Saturn is in fall in Aries, opposite its exaltation. The sign asks Saturn to work in an unfamiliar way.
